Your Un-Personalized Cover Letter
If you think that I could be useful to you in some way, please let me know. In April 2009, I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Applied Linguistics. I am available for full-time direct-hire employment in a position related to language and/or software development and/or systems analysis.
I presently work from home as a software analyst-developer, and have been programming since 1998. I've used PHP, ASP, VB.NET/C#.NET, LISP-variants, SQL (mySQL & MSSQL), JavaScript, HTML, XML, and various other things. Tool-wise I'm experienced with the Office suite, including InfoPath, Access, and Outlook Forms; SharePoint; MediaWiki; Visual Studio 2005; the Eclipse IDE; and gads of things. I am the proverbial geek, and can aptly tackle other tasks as necessary. I was also very fond of MacGyver as a kid, so I tend to play with things just as much off the computer as I do on them.
I have studied Japanese since 2000, as well as having studied Italian and German at various points. I'm highly interested in languages, and my particular fascinations include automated phonetic segment analysis (automatically recognizing and cataloging formants) and computer-aided/automated pattern mapping (taking a series of corpuses, and rigorously parsing them for patterns).
Software-wise, I just like solving problems. Really. Any problem.
